Facial fillers use restylane, this is made from Hyaluronic acid, this is a naturally occurring acid present in our body. It isn't caustic or hazardous to skin in any way, in fact quite the opposite. Hylauronic acid keeps our skin looking plum and firm and it is for this reason that facial fillers contain it to restore that same plumpness and firmness that has been lost. Fillers may often be used in conjunction with other forms of antiwrinkle injection treatments.
Lip Fillers create fuller and plumper lips. The lip filler injections create fuller lips by augmenting the naturally occurring hyaluronic acid in our body. Hyaluronic acid is now used far more often than collagen which was the older style of lip filler.
Lip filler injections are used for both lip augmentation to give lips a fuller appearance and lip enhancement to enhance the shape and definition of the lips
The cost of lip fillers will vary depending on the exact procedure and treatment used. In many cases simply lip plumping is required but if lip reshaping or augmentation is required then this will increase the number and complexity of injections. The more injections and the more complex treatment you have, the higher the cost will be. A typical treatment for fuller lips begin at around £350 with an initial free consultation.
Treatment results can be seen immediately and because the hyaluronic acid is naturally reabsorbed into the body the lip fillers will fade over time. Typically, treatments will last 9-12 months before further treatment is required.
Yes, the filler agent, hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring compound. We specifically use Restylane which is derived from non-animal origins.
The treatment is extremely safe and side-effects generally occur from injections by inexperienced practitioners. Typical side-effects of this nature include:
No, Restylane is hyaluronic acid a naturally occurring compound which plumps out the lips and skin naturally. Collagen injections are used less often today as hyaluronic acid is safer and gives far more predictable results.
The injections are not usually painful although you may experience some minor discomfort during the procedure. A topical local anaesthetic can also be used to completely numb the area prior to any treatment. Swelling normally fades after 2 days although bruising may take slightly longer to disappear.
Yes, patients often worry that they may appear frozen after treatment and not able to smile or laugh, this is not true. Your filler practitioner will be highly skilled at injecting the fillers in exactly the correct place to achieve the desired result, leaving your normal facial expressions completely unaffected.
The procedure begins with a free consultation where we can discuss with your desired treatment and look, and create a tailored treatment plan, including the areas to be treated, type of treatment to be used, number of injections and cost.
After you have had your initial consultation the treatment itself usually takes around 15 to 30 min, depending on the area to be treated. This can be done at a time convenient for you, allowing you to go back to work or continue your day as normal.
At the same appointment we can book a review appointment in 6 months time as the effects of the filler start to wear off and you can then book a top-up treatment if required.
As we get older, fine lines and wrinkles appear.
Over time, these become permanent creases in our skin.
Using a syringe and a fine needle, Dermal Fillers can be injected which plump up the skin and reduce the visibility of these wrinkles.
